This seminar explored the role of genome sequencing in monitoring SARS-CoV-2 and its variants. We presented findings from our sequencing of SARS-CoV-2 genomes and COVID-19 patient transcriptomes in Saudi Arabia, focusing on current genomic surveillance efforts under the 'COVID-19 Genomics MENA Consortium.' Additionally, we discussed ongoing genomics-driven Dengue virus surveillance initiatives in the Kingdom.

The Biomedical Research Center arranged a seminar given by Prof. Geoffrey, a professor of molecular parasitology and director of internationalization coming from the School of Biological Sciences at Queen’s University Belfast (QUB), an expert in cell-biology, biochemistry, and host-parasite interaction. His talk discussed eDNA as a novel biomarker in managing the risk of helminth diseases.

The Biomedical Research Center arranged a seminar by Dr. Seri Fatmawati coming from Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), Indonesia who is an expert in isolation of natural products from medical plans and having more than 15 patents in her field.
