Requirements for Declaring a Major and Minor – Within the College of Business and EconomicsStudents who have completed all eight courses listed below are eligible to declare their major and minor. Students may only declare after either completing all the listed courses or are currently registered in the remaining courses during the same semester.
Eligible students will be sent a link through the Banner system to submit their selections. Results will be announced at the end of the semester.

Transfer Conditions within Qatar University
Conditions for Transferring Major to General Business (for Non-Business Students)
Non-Business students wishing to change their major to General Business must meet the following conditions:
- Fulfill Qatar University's policy on major change.
- Have completed a minimum of 30 credit hours AND attended at least two semesters (Fall and Spring) of undergraduate coursework.
- Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50 out of 4.00.
- Meet Qatar University's Mathematics competency requirements Or successfully complete MATH 103.
- For English track, the applicant needs to satisfy Qatar University's English Competency requirements by achieving the required score in one of the official English test score.
Please note that admission is competitive and subject to seat availability. Meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee acceptance. In some cases, GPA and credit hour requirements may be reduced based on availability, but passing one of the required math courses is mandatory for the application to be considered.
Changing Minor (For Non-Business Students)
The College of Business and Economics offers only one minor for non-business students: ·
· Entrepreneurship and Innovation for Non-Business Students.
Admission to this minor is also competitive and subject to seat availability.
Internship Course Instructions and Procedures
It is offered in the summer only, and students are required to complete the prerequisite and earn 75 credit hours or more by the end of the spring semester.
Study Abroad Instructions and Procedures The following courses are not allowed to be taken outside of Qatar University:
- All Major required courses.
- All Minor required courses.
- MAGT304 Production & Operations Management.
- MAGT405 Strategic Management.
- All students are required to comply with QU policies of study abroad.
